Some words about the shots…
It’s rare I get to photograph at local festivals but Oh Majester invited me along to capture their performance. I took along my 14-24mm lens as well as my 70-200mm lens in the hope that I would be able to get some variety in shots. In hindsight I think I probably could have achieved more with the 24-70mm rather than the wide angle due to the nature of the stage and how close I could get etc.
I’m still getting to grips with my wide angle lens and tested myself in regards to how to shoot with it. Given that local stages tend to be smaller and quite ‘noisey’, it’s hard to be a perfectionist with it. That said, I think the huge difference in focal length of the two lenses definitely freshens up my content.
Some words about ambitions for the future…
I very rarely get the invite to photograph at local festivals. This time next year I definitely want to be looking back at a summer where I’ve at least photographed a bunch of local bands at each festival and further to that am working with festivals for the whole weekend. That’s the goal!
