These photographs were taken in a lovely Air BNB in Falmouth, Cornwall.
Some words about the models…
Initially the shoot was planned with me and Tara. Tara is a fantastic model who I’ve worked with a couple of times before and we’ve been plotting working together for awhile, so it was a great way to start the year. Tara is one of those people who are just a natural infront of the camera, but more than willing to try poses out etc.
Meg just happened to be at the Air BNB with Tara and I’ve wanted to work with her for awhile. She was pretty shy about it but Tara gently pushed her into it and I hope she got a lot out of it.
Some words about the shots…
I’ve felt like my portrait work has been expressionless for awhile. I need to tap into the models personalities and showcase that as much as making them work within a landscape. Considering these images were shot in the same room, I definitely feel like you can tell the difference in personalities from these two. Tara as that sultry sassy attitude down to a tea, while Meg on the other hand is just a bit out there which I love. This year I definitely want to capture personalities in my portraits more, less thinking about the shots and more working from feelings.
