Some words about the shots…
Carrying on from my last shoot, I have continued to photograph music subjects a little bit outside of the box for myself.
I mixed things up a little bit more this time as there was a lot more room to move around, so I used this to my advantage and as well as using my 135mm lens, I utilised my 14-24mm lens as well as the 24-70mm lens. It was pretty difficult to get wide shots without it looking a little bit messy but I’ve kind of embraced this to a large degree as it was a rehearsal, so you would expect bags to be on the floor, as well as things to be on walls in a school hall. It also meant that alongside tightly framed shots of subjects I was able to get a nice variety of shots which I think works well as a package.
I’m hoping I can catch the chorus performing in concert in a couple of months and capture them in a more aesthetically pleasing venue as even though I think I’ve got some nice captures here, I do think that a beautiful venue will make all of the difference!
