Street Photography from August 2019 To November 2020, Cornwall, UK

Where were these photographs taken?
These photographs were taken in several places around Cornwall but mainly Penzance, Camborne, Redruth and Truro.

Some words about the shots…
I can’t believe I haven’t posted a blog post of street shots in over a year.

I would apologise to whoever likes looking at my street photography but I think the one person who I need to apologise to is myself. Somewhere along the way I lost confidence and forgot how to do street photography. I got caught up in the idea that street photography has to look great all the time and that it has to say something al the time. In Cornwall, I think most of the time what you are saying is how slow paced and mundane everything is and that’s completely fine. This is how I make sense of the world and this is how I come to terms with the idea of living in a place that I don’t like or understand.

I’m hoping, lockdown permitting, that I can do more street observations over the next few months. I’ve recently got a Ricoh camera which isn’t the greatest quality in the world but is so small that I can take it anywhere with me and so inconspicuous that I could be right next to someone and they probably wouldn’t know that I had taken a photograph of them. Hopefully this will encourage me to take more photographs and will change up my shooting style a fair bit as the Ricoh is a fixed 28mm lens where as I usually shoot at 85mm, so it should be interesting in many aspects.
