I’ve never really watched basketball so again, this was a real challenge to me. Someone recently told me that sports photography is the same as live music photography, you’ve just got to find the rhythm and they are totally right. It took me awhile but by the end I definitely felt like I was in sync.
The team themselves were incredibly welcoming to myself, and while there is obviously a competitive and athletic streak to their practice sessions, I do feel that a big part of the evening is based around socialising and having a laugh. While I do think I’ve done a great job of capturing the more athletic elements on my first attempt, I do think that moving forward, capturing the personality and fun within the training sessions is a challenge that I would relish.
